59 Stingray Racer...

The 1959 Corvette StingRay Racer is 1,000 pounds lighter than a '60 production Vette. It has a 4.6-liter V-8 that produces 315hp. In 1960 the StingRay Racer was the winner of the SCCA National Championship. After it's time on the track, owner and GM Vice President of styling Bill mitchell had a passenger seat added. As you can tell, the 1963 Vette takes many of it's styling from the Racer.
