Datsun 280Z...

Debuting in 1970, the 240Z was a two-seater coupe with a long snout and sloping style hood with recessed headlamps that caught the attention of the post 1960's American car buying public. Over the next eight model years the original Z car was produced, Datsun continued to refine it with more civil features and over time, larger engine displacement.

The first change to the Z line was with the short lived 260Z with its larger 2.6 liter engine, increased from the original 2.4 liter with the first generation 240Z models. The new 280Z emerged in 1975 with a 2.8 liter engine. Finally, in 1977 the 280Z gained the fuel injected version.

In August 1977, Nissan begain closing the book on the original Z car design with its 1978 model year 280Z, what many believe was the finest original Z car ever built. Production on the last original Z car was completed in June, 1978.

What followed in the coming years starting with the 1979 model year were, in my opinion, cars which reflected an evolution slowly towards a GT and more luxury oriented sports car. Over time, I believe the there was a continued diminishing of the DNA of the original Z car. Although the 1979 280ZX possessed much of the original Z car's personality, the trend as the years passed was a fading of the original Z car's heritage. While later model Z cars are decendents of the original, including the latest offering by Nissan, the 350Z, possessing some of its original spirit, to me the 1970 - 1978 model years, will forever assure its place in 20th century automotive history.

And finally, Grandpa Dave's car

Sunday Funnies...

On a trans-atlantic flight, a plane was passing through a horrible storm. The turbulence is severe, and unfortunately things go from bad to worse when one of the wings were struck by lightning. One woman in particular friggen loses it.
Screaming, she stands up at the front of the plane. "I'm too young to die!" she blares. "Well, if I'm going to die, I want my last minutes on Earth to be memorable! I've had plenty of sex in my life, but no one has really ever made me feel like a woman! Well I've had it! Is there ANYONE on this plane who can make me feel like a WOMAN??"
For a moment, there is silence. Everyone has forgotten their own danger and they all stare, riveted, at the desperate woman at the front of the plane.
Then, a man stands up in the back of the plane. "I can make you feel like a real woman," he shouts. He's gorgeous. Tall, built, with long, flowing blond hair and jet blue eyes, and he begins walking slowly up the aisle, unbuttoning his shirt one button at a time. Everyone stares in silence.
The woman is breathing heavily in anticipation as the stranger approaches. He removes his shirt. Muscles ripple across his chest as he reaches her, and extends the arm holding his shirt to the trembling woman, and whispers:
"Iron this."

Man says to his Wife: Let me take a picture of your breasts, than I can always look at them.
Wife says to her Man: Let me take a picture of your penis, so can have it enlarged.

An elderly woman, distressed over the recent death of her husband, decided to end her life early to be with her husband in the afterlife.
She went to her doctor's the next day and asked, "Doctor, where is my heart?". He replied, "On a woman's body, it is just below the left breast." With that said she went home, took her husband's loaded handgun, and shot herself. A neighbor, overhearing the gunfire, immediately called 911. The ambulance arrived, and she was admitted to the hospital with a gun-shot wound just below her left knee.

Noble M600

The wheels of the 2010 Noble M600 spin as the Michelins do battle with a wet track and 650 horsepower. We're already doing over 100 mph. Now 120 mph and the twin-turbo V8 sounds ever more urgent. At 160 mph, the Noble starts to feel a little light as we crest a brow on this old British airport runway. Into 6th gear and at 180 mph the acceleration starts to tail off a little. The throttle stays buried, the turbos strain and the speedo needle swings past 200 mph.
Now hard on the brakes. The M600 does without ABS and the power assist for the brakes has been kept to a minimum, so the pedal feels solid and demands care. The Noble is not for the molly-coddled; it's a back-to-nature supercar that counters the electronic complication of the Ferrari 458 Italia with elegant simplicity.
Down through the gears, enter a right-hander at 60 mph and then another burst of power before another 90-degree right-hander. Now careful with the throttle; this car has a better power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and no stability control. Feel the rears slip a little and then we're back on the straightaway. The 2010 Noble M600 has arrived.
