Scenic Sunday

Cafe Bikes

Spending some time at the cafe (bike)

Sunday Funnies

A man named Bill woke up on his birthday. His wife and kids didn't even say good morning to him. So, he left for work in a huff. His receptionist, Joanna, said happy birthday. "Thanks, Joanna. That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day." Bill relied, pleased. So he worked until his lunch break, when Joanna asked if he fancied a lunch. Instead of taking their usual lunch just outside, they went to a big beautiful bistro. " My apartment is just around the corner. Would you like to visit?" Joanna asked. "Sure, why not?" Bill replied. At her apartment, Bill sat down on the couch. Joanna said she'd be right back and stepped into the bedroom. Minutes later, she came back out followed by Bills family, friends, and co-workers. Bill just sat there... naked.

Yesterday as I sat in Starbucks drinking my coffee, I suddenly had the urge to fart. I didn't want anyone to hear, so I thought I would squeeze out little ones to the beat of the music that was playing in the shop. I let one go on the drum beat and no one seemed to notice, so I did it about 10 more times.

Well, people started to laugh and move away from me with disgusted looks on their faces. That's when I realized I was listening to my iPod.

An elderly man goes into his doctors office for an annual physical. After a while, the doctor comes out and says, "I'm sorry Bill, but we have discovered you have a condition which only allows you another 6 weeks to live."
"But Doctor," Bill replied, "I feel great. I haven't felt better in years. This just can't be true. Isn't there anything I can do?"
After a moment the doctor said, "Well, you might start going down the street to that new health spa and take a mud bath every day."
Excitedly Bill asked, "And that will cure me?"
"No," replied the doctor, "but it will get you used to the dirt."

Remember...

An unremarkable movie that came out a few years ago. That's all the movie "V" was. That's it. Didn't win any awards and it disappeared pretty quickly.  However, At the recent "Occupy Whatever" protests, there have been quite a few sightings of the shadowy figure known as V in the form of a Chinese made, plastic mask attached to a smelly, probably high, dirty hippie.

Yeah, whatever, you bought that thing from a another dirty assed, unwashed dipshit sitting in the next tent who had the foresight to buy 50 of them and sell them to you and your buddies for a tidy profit. Capitalism at it's best. The same thing you are protesting.

But, The character is a gentleman by the name of Guy (Guido) Fawkes. Who's he you ask? Well here's the skinny. He and others, attempted to blow up Westminster Castle in 1605. An anonymous letter was received buy government officials, and he was caught, tortured, and died while trying to escape the hangman's noose. He was defiant to the end.

Fawkes became synonymous with the Gunpowder Plot, the failure of which has been commemorated in England since 5 November 1605. His effigy is often burned on a bonfire, commonly accompanied by a fireworks display.

But, and here's the thing. The symbol of Guy Fawkes has quickly (since the movie V) become synonymous with protest. The mask makes you faceless symbol of (anti government) protest. If you haven't seen the movie, see it. You will understand the reasoning behind the symbolism.

In these trying times we live in, people are working harder for less. They are unemployed. They are losing their houses and cars. They are frustrated.

Maybe the plastic, Chinese made mask is more of an idea and represents the frustration that we are all feeling than we realize. Maybe we should all buy one.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!

A Washington State man was killed recently while hiking in the woods of the northwest. During this hike, he was attacked and killed by a 325 pound mountain goat.

The man's family is now suing the National park service because they should have protected him from all the wild and scary beasts of the forest.

What        The        HELL!

Are you people retarded? Just so you know, there is a place that you can go and see animals and be perfectly safe. It's called the zoo! The wilds of the northwest are full of untamed animals. Should the park service tie them all to trees so that Grandpa can hike without being bothered?

Actually, he went there of his own free will, wandering around in the woods scaring the crap out of every animal within a mile radius. I would call that a suicide. He knew what he was getting into.

Post Halloween, eh, whatever.

So, I think I have a candy hangover. My head is pounding and I'm sick to my stomach. I even went to bed early last night! I guess stealing candy from the kids bags wan't such a good idea after all!

It's funny how a simple little pagan holiday that doesn't really mean anything to anyone can make everyone crazy. Kids go nuts for candy. Girls dress as slutty as they can. I can't count how many naughty nurses, cops, and maids I've seen over the years.

Not that I mind, but I just think it's silly for a woman to conduct herself as a normal everyday student, stay at home mom etc. and then on Halloween, slut central!

Oh well, I'm good for another year. Back to bed.
